The anniversary festivities begin with a free kick-off concert featuring three bands from Aviles, Spain, St. Augustine’s sister city, performing together to bring the culture and music of Spain to St. Augustine. This event is free and open to the public. The three bands include: Tejedor, an Asturian fold band, Los Morrigans, an Asturian Spanish pop band, and Alexandra in Grey, a Spanish Indie Rock artist.

In the spring of 2016 a group of St. Augustine musicians will travel to Havana, Cuba as goodwill "ambassadors" to perform a series of concerts in support of a grassroots community project called Quinta de los Molinos – a Cuban project that promotes the social inclusion of children and youth with intellectual disabilities. Sponsored by The Friendship Association and YOU! 


This concert is the first fundraising activity of this dream. Please join us and help to make this a reality.

Renowned English guitarist Richard Smith will perform Saturday, July 25 as part of the Gamble Rogers Music Festival concert series.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the music will begin at 7 p.m. at Lohman Auditorium, located behind the Whitney Lab at Marineland, 9505 Ocean Shore Blvd., from A1A south. General admission seating begins at 6:30 p.m.
Smith is an English guitarist who now resides in the U.S. He specializes in the fingerstyle guitar tradition of Merle Travis, Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed. He is the 2001 National Fingerstyle Guitar Champion.
Julie Adams, playing cello, will perform with Smith. They will play two sets of music during this concert. Light refreshments, a raffle and merchandise will be available during the event.
