The New Music News

Greetings Folks!

You know I've been writing "Some Music News" for about a decade now. I hope so very much that you have enjoyed that. Through Gmail's policies it is no longer an option for me to send out a group mailing, so I have created Some Music News in a blog form which I hope you might enjoy even more. Please feel free to leave me a comment if you'd like and if you would like to subscribe to or join the blog please do!

Thanks, as always, for supporting live music and for listening friends!

The cultural heritage that is passed from generation to generation through music is one of the underpinnings of the human journey on planet earth.

Please plan to attend the next concert in the series produced by the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival Inc. The concert will take place on November 2nd (Friday) at 7 PM in the Lohman Auditorium of the UF Whitney Lab, 9505 Ocean shore Blvd (A1A south adjacent to Marineland). The concert will feature three stunning 2-generation acts: Devin Johnson and his dad David; Rachel Carrick and her dad Jim; Amanda Anderson and her dad Scott. This concert will provide a wonderful insight into the amazing talent that is coming up in the next generation. Please visit the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival web page for more details on the acts ( www.gamblerogersfest.org). The Lohman auditorium is new on the local scene of music venues but has hosted some beautiful events in the past year and so we are adding to the list. The auditorium has very comfortable seating for ~275 so please purchase your tickets early. When they are gone they are gone. Tickets may be purchased locally at either Simple Gestures (4 White Street) or Music Matters (196 St. Rd 312) or by calling Paul at 904 794 4163. The tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the show (if any remain!). There will be light refreshments available as well as a drawing for folk festival memorabilia including a guitar that was autographed by all of the performers at the 2012 Gamble Rogers Folk Festival. The proceeds from the concert will support the mission of the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival which is to perpetuate the musical and performance heritage of James Gamble Rogers and to also donate financial support to the Arts and Music programs of the local school system. Plans are in the works to actually present a substantial financial donation to the Arts and Music programs of our school system at the concert on November 2nd. Please get your tickets early and plan to bring the whole family, friends, neighbors and anyone else that you can imagine! Lets keep it going!!!
